Password Strength

Today i would like to talk to you about passwords.

Gone are the days of giant doors and huge lock/chains.

Most items are protected by passwords. E.g. Our phones, Social Media, emails, bank accounts etc etc.

So if passwords are important why not spend some time to figure out the best way to strengthen them?

Today with the right applications and tools passwords can be broken into pretty quickly. Sometimes our password is all that stands in the way of privacy and secure access to money or worse your home surveillance!

also today with single sign-on open standard for authorization (OAUTH) meaning to use your facebook or google account to login other web services or devices means 1 password failure may lead to multiple accounts affected.

scary? so how???

It is in my opinion that a strong password does not necessary need to look like this a#(2$1@psDu9Q]{Qwe

A strong password must fulfill 3 criterias

  1. It must meet the minimum requiresments today of Alpha Numeric Capital Lowercase Special Character and minimum length of 8. i recommend more than length of 14 preferably 20.
  2. It must be easy for you to remember
  3. It must not be easily decipherable when typing (as in when people are looking over your shoulder) if your password is abc1234567890 it’s going to be pretty obvious…

also it is not wrong to write down your passwords. just make sure you leave yourself a good hint or put your passwords under lock and key or password vault apps.

you can help passwords like this:
